Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!
Over the past three decades, I’ve worked with more than two dozen different destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and travel companies providing engaging and credible content on a range of topics—from outdoor recreation to wine-touring to LGBTQ travel. Since 2020, I’ve served as editor and project manager of the State of Washington Visitors’ Guide and the Washington State Wine Commission Official Tour Guide. And additionally, since summer 2022, I’ve served as the editor and project manager of the twice-annual Visit Seattle Official Visitors’ Guide and the Explore Asheville Official Visitors Guide.
I’ve also consulted with many of these same organizations to help them optimize their LGBTQ marketing efforts. Having launched several magazines, written and edited dozens of guidebooks for Fodor’s, Hardie Grant, and Moon Handbooks, and served as copy editor of New Mexico Magazine from 2003 through 2007, I know how to develop compelling content, produce clean and relevant copy, work closely with art directors and production editors, manage editorial budgets, edit in InDesign, and promote stories through social media.

As the creator of the first LGBTQ guidebook by a mainstream publisher, the award-winning Fodor’s Gay Guide to the USA, I’m also one of the world’s foremost experts on writing about and for this diverse and vibrant community. Whether you need an article that pairs great hikes with rewarding dining experiences, an advice piece on road-tripping from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta, or a story about outdoor adventures in the Washington State Wine Country, I’d love to collaborate with you. I can create lively first-person narratives (with photography) or targeted content written in a voice that reflects your brand’s vibe and values. And I’m open to projects of all sizes, from 200 to 20,000 words—I’ve written an entire visitor guide for Visit Seaside Oregon, and I’ve consulted on and produced two different LGBTQ travel brochures for the Guam Visitors Bureau.
Drop me a line, and let me know how we can work together!
